hey all -
so I get home and plug my laptop into my LAN at home. The link light on my router (Linksys BEFSR41) isn't on for the port I'm using, but is light for the other two PCs on my network. I switch cables and ports, but that doesn't work. The other computer in front of me, attached to the router (and indicated so by the status lights) can't get a webpage up, and can't do a "repair internet connection" in WinXP. I reboot the router, same thing. Leave it unplugged for a minute, same thing. Hit the reboot button, same thing. If I plug a PC into the cable modem directly I can get a connection just fine. It's just that nothing seems to work when plugged into the router, and it seems port #2 is dead (both the status light on the port won't stay on, and my laptop's ethernet status light won't stay on when it's plugged in).
Is this about all the troubleshooting I can do, or did I miss anything? Has anybody seen this sort of thing before?
