Got a Samsung F3 or F3EG HDD? Hear it "clicking" after connecting to the latest Intel or AMD chipsets? In my case. it was a slow (every second) click like a full seek. Eventually the drive disappears from your OS.

Warning! If you leave a drive unpatched and connected to a chipset that causes the click, the drive could be permanently damaged.

..."A 36.
This patch code is released in order to solve the compatibilty problem between some mainboard (AMD SB850 chipset and Intel P67/H67 chipset) and our HDD (F3 and F3EG model only).
This patch program works only to
F3 (HD323HJ / HD502HJ / HD503HI / HD103SJ / HD105SI)
F3EG (HD153WI / HD203WI)"...

Give me 24 or so hours and I can tell you. I remember that my original firmware ended in a 4 and the new one ends in a 5

I have five disks and four different firmware versions. I'm curious if any need the update.

Apologies for the delay. The fixed firmware is 1AJ100E5. I believe that my original firmware with the problem was 1AJ100E4

It it only that firmware revision?

Two of my drives have that firmware, but the others appear to have earlier revisions.
