Anyone have any bright ideas about the most efficient way to scan several hundred baseball cards for Ebay listings?

Somewhere in time.
Scan as many as will fit on the scanner in one shot and break them up with photo editing sw? That's what I did with a bunch of old 2x2" photos stuck in an album page.

Do you have access to a scanner with an ADF? Perhaps pages of cards would even work through that?

If the cards are worth any money I wouldn't try that.

A baseball card being just a bit of cardboard with a couple of pictures printed on it wouldn't scanning them all for an ebay listing be kind of like posting an AVI of a movie when trying to sell the DVD?

I mean obviously cards a somewhat more of a collectors thing but I still think I'd just list the names of all the cards and maybe have a couple of them scanned/photographed to show the condition.

I'm not responsible for doing this, just looking for advice since I didn't have any particularly good ideas (other than scanning more than one at a time and cropping).

As I understand it, the cards are in individual sleeves or plastic cases, not sheets, and the party wants a high-res scan for each card to accompany its sale on Ebay.

If the cards are any good you don't sell them as a lot, you sell them individually. Thus, the condition of each card iz importante.

I'm not familiar with for what card collectors look in online sales, but I'd want to see the item in it's holder. Particularly as these are just pieces of paper, minimal handling is likely prefered. Also, depending on the age and value of the cards, you probably want to minimize exposure to light.

I'd suggest that if the person want to sell each card online, individually, that he take individual photographs.

Personally, I wouldn't buy individual collectable cards from a picture.
