My first NAS is still in use as a file "backer-upper" as the user says. The NAS was released in 2015 and as far as I can determine there is still OS support, which is remarkable. I have not actually updated it in several years. The NAS has the original series of 8TB RED He+ drives in there. It can saturate 1GbE, but probably not much more since there is a wimpy ARM-style CPU. In 2016 this was a $600 unit and the drives were $340 ea.
