Their unit is PATA, SATA is not yet available for the 5400.3. No performance benchmark, but a good read if you're interested by the noise and vibration of the drive.

I considered buying one a week or so ago when they appeared. However, I am concerned that the next notebook will use an SATA drive.

I certainly wouldn't spend money on a PATA HDD. I linked the review so that you can see the noise/power dissipation characteristics of the drive, but I don't expect anyone to buy it until it become available in SATA version.
