What do people use/like for playing MP3 streams in Windows. In my recent SuSE install I am using Amarok, which does a great job of simply playing streams. In Windows I've used Winamp since the 1.x days, but I fear its getting a bit bloated these days. Thoughts?

Thanks JKKJ. On my system Foobar 2000 uses 6-7 MB while running, vs 25 for Winamp. I still prefer Winamp, but when I'm just streaming music it's not worth the extra RAM that I'm too cheap to upgrade.

I am omnipresent
I use WinAmp 2 to play music.

Does anyone know a way to permanently make Media Player Classic dominant over WMP? Seems like no matter how I fiddle with file associations, the world's most retarded media player always comes back.

how about "uninstalling" WMP from the Windows components section of Add/Remove Programs.

Btw, a new release of MPC is probably emminent. Gabest made a bunch of changes to it recently, including adding an internal mp4 splitter & decoder ... you can read about it here
