The blue was nice, but I really like the changes to the front. As it turned the corner the contours seemed more aggressive than the old ones.

I agree. After I saw the one local to me in person, I really like the changes they made. The Audi forums say otherwise as people are greatly mixed on the design changes, but I really like it. The changes make it a bit more modern-looking. I do think it would look even sharper with a bit less chrome on the front. I'd like to see the RS4 grill on it.

It would seem my S4 is on the boat and should arrive in port 6/25. Dealer still says it's arriving on the lot the week of 7/8.

I think we participated in the same thread on AZ. Mine is 7/13 and the last I spoke to the SA it was July 30th when I would get it. No idea if it would be sooner, so I can only hope so.

Curious, have you shopped for insurance yet? I tried filling out an online estimator with my current company and compared to what I pay now, the cost more than tripled (over $3k/year). I wouldn't have expected the price to increase much if any. Just curious if you noticed a huge increase or anything at all. I need to call them and find out what the deal is because this can't be right.

In general I've noticed the same thing. Every time I add a car to an existing policy they try to screw me. This list currently includes Allstate and Geico, though I suspect my current carrier (AAA) would be no different. Whenever I get a new car I switch carriers.

I did some other online quotes for places like Progressive, Allstate, and Geico and they were all a lot cheaper than my current company, but within the same range I'm paying now. I'll just have to call them to figure out what the issue is and if they can't get close to the others, I'll just change like you mentioned.

Frankly, I hadn't looked into it yet. I'll be calling soon.

I have found that State Farm and Farmers have much better rates than Progressive or Geico.

Looks like State Farm and Farmers don't do Mass auto insurance. State Farm just doesn't offer me anything and Farmers redirects me to 21st century insurance. So far Geico has the best rate from an online quote.

It would appear that the S4 will cost me about 30% more to insure than my Maxima did keeping the same insurance company I have now. That doesn't seem too bad for a car that's 11 years newer and a tad more than twice as expensive especially considering it's higher performance car.

So, I guess I shouldn't have gone by memory here. My recollection of how much I was paying for my Maxima's car insurance was very wrong. The S4 is 105% more than the Maxima. From $336.55 (for the most recent statement I could find that's ~1 year old) to $692.50 (for 6 months). That's more than I was expecting though I never gave it much thought. But, it's not going to stop me from buying the car and enjoying it.

The quote from my same company went from $1100 to $1700 a year. Not quite the increase you saw, but still significant none the less. I think it's about a 65% increase. I need to call a few other places to see what they might charge me.

Here is the Estoril Blue on the S4...hard to get a good sense with all the shiny reflections happening.

Those pictures pretty much suck... You get a hint of the color travel from the Colorstream pigment in them though.

The lighting didn't do him any favors, but what really killed him is the bright surroundings around it reflecting off the "dark" glossy surface.

Thanks a bunch for passing it along to me, that was generous.
You're welcome. I'm not sure what I would have done with two of them or if they would have even given me a 2nd one. Besides, I'm just spreading the swag around to my friends. :tgif:

I switched my insurance over on my current car tonight. Geico saved me about 56% on my current car. Their quote for the S4 would put at 15% less than my current car under my old insurance, but more (35%) under the new insurance. If I compared geico to my old insurance when comparing a policy for the S4, my old company is 74% more expensive for slightly less coverage. Anyway, I'm saving money on both cars and switching cars should be slightly easier under the same insurance company when the time comes.

I'm forever indecisive on wheels. I've been leaning towards the VMR v701s in gunmetal. I have to check if the 19x8.5 et 35 fits.

I got the pricing from my dealership today. I did not get a breakdown of the car's selling price, just a single number. I'm not quite 100% sure what's all is in it. I know the invoice pricing of the car and all the options from the order guide. By subtracting that out, it looks like there is $480.63 of "fees" on top of the "Friends & Family" price of $300 over invoice. I was estimating the regional add fee as $432 per truecar.com so it's quite close to my estimate. Since I know the regional ad fee is a real cost to the dealership from Audi it doesn't seem like the dealership is playing any games with the pricing.

Of course on top of all that there's the $190 Michigan doc fee, the $15 title, $325 registration / plate, and 6% sales tax (on the car + the $190 doc fee). :cursin:

I'm planning on going to the dealer this weekend and just making sure everything is OK with my supplier certificate and get the numbers to see what they throw in for fees/etc. I still think it's BS to have an ad fee attached to the pricing. That's their problem to advertise the car. If they're going to pass that on, it should have to be on the sticker. I'm concerned what the doc fee will be at my dealer. I have visions of stupid numbers.

Well reportedly Audi invoices the dealer a per car amount for the amount of regional advertising Audi corporate does in that market / area. So, it's not the dealer spending the money and tacking it onto the car, but Audi of America. Still, I agree it's odd. They should either bake it into the base price or put it on the invoice.
