The machine he didn't know what it was for is called a printer. It puts the soldering paste on the PCB before the Fuji, GSM, or other insertion machine places the surface mount components on it and then it goes in the oven where the soldering paste is melted.
I used to know how to calibrate a similar printer and a GSM (american made machine from the company called "Universal" that is usually used to place bigger surface mount components), but that was several years ago.
