Does anyone use the Hitachi 5K1000 1TB notebook drive? I'm trying to decide whether to get some of those vs. more of the WD10JPVT.

No, the warranty means nothing. I destroy defective drives rather than returning them for an RMA.

I'm just wondering if the Hitachi is a better drive than the WD, which is rather noisy (especially seeking) for a 5400RPM drive. I have three of the Samsung 1TB drives because they were first to market with 9.5mm, but will not be buying any more.
