Trend Penicillin update

I bought the current version of Trend P and, I first installed it on a Panasonic CF-37, with 192 mb of ram, and 366 mhz processor, windows 2000.

First off, when email comes in, it totally eats the processor, making any other kind of work out of the question. It also takes a LONG time to
get done.

Makes it pretty much hopeless.

I've gone to a Panasonic CF-51, with 1.25 gig of ram, and a 1.6 ghz Centrino M, XP XP 2.

It works.

Still, the program is constantly updating itself, and causing you to restart your machine all the time, which is really annoying.

If the program ran in the back ground, and didn't require constant shut downs, I would feel a lot better about buying it.

Plus, it's a one year subscription deal, too.

It does seem to work, but, it's certainly not perfect.

Sincerely

Greg

AFAIK, everything in the A/V market works on a one year subscription.

There are probably two main reasons why some of us recommend NOD32:

1. It is less invasive/intrusive than most.
2. It has less impact on PC performance than most.

You should probably give it a try.

There are corporate AV products that don't require subscription. One of the only good things about Symantec AV (the other being server-based management).

But, OK, every modern AV program *I* am aware of eats CPU cycles for breakfast, and no one cares, 'since for the most part we're all driving machines that are vastly overpowered for the things we're doing on them.

AV products are a scam. Just say no.

... and is exceptional at cleaning-up/preventing virus infections.

Next year, when the subscription runs out...
