USB NIC through powered USB hub no worky

Why does my USB NIC (Linksys USB100TX) not work through my Belkin powered USB hub (F5U234)?

Because it is not putting out proper spec power? I had this issue with a number of 2.5" external HDDs.

Do you have a suggested replacement hub? I need more ports anyway.

'Fraid not. I just put all my power-hungry/speed sensitive devices on direct USB extensions from the PC.

I have a laptop. That won't work for me.

A USB hub with rechargeable batteries that recharge from the USB port...an interesting idea.
