acording to the vr-zone:

Apparently there will be another chipset offering from VIA for the K7 processors. VIA KT600 will be coming out in Q2 officially supporting 400Mhz Barton XP 3200+ (11.0 x 200Mhz) launching in May. KT600 will be in competition with SiS748 where SiS has demonstrated during CeBIT supporting 400Mhz FSB as well as DDR400.

there's nothing more on their site but here's the link anyway: http://www.vr-zone.com/#2898

i thought kt400 was supposed to be the last... then they release 400a... im almost sceptical about a 600 now... and why the name format change?

wouldn't it support 600mHz RAM following the standard Via convection that's been in place for the last several years?

I'm wondering teh same things. did you notice though that it supposedly supports a 400MHz FSB? is there a 400MHz FSB CPU on AMD's roadmap?

I saw that, but figured it was for overclocking a 333 CPU... since I handn't seen a 333 on the roadmap(until now).

Bah, VIA Marketing should be lined up against a wall and shot.

KT266

KT266A

KT333

KT400 = KT333A

KT400A = KT400

KT600 = KT400A

if they had kept their nomenclature straight

Liam,

you have a good point but shooting them is too good for those that confuse for a living. I think they should all be condemed to a purgutory where their sole objective is simply to best Microsoft in the art of the deal: They don't get to move on till they succeed.
