The funny thing was, I went to a Verizon retail outlet in the hopes that they'd have some way to expedite my request for service. Nope! They have to call the same customer support dumbasses I could've talked to myself.

I got to sit and listen for 25 minutes this morning as the Cindy the jaded and grumpy "Verizon Product Specialist" (a retail clerk after my own heart) argued with some perky CSR in Verizon data services.

End result: I can't cancel service for the DSL ordered on the wrong-line until it's been billed. Which won't happen until it's turned on. So someone, somewhere is going to be without phone service for some length of time because of a typo somewhere. And even funnier, according to Verizon, I shouldn't've been able to order service except for a line in my name or my residential address in the first place. Since I apparently CAN do that, I know exactly what I'm going to do to my next non-paying customer.

This whole experience makes me feel stabby.

So the classic spam revenge of subscribing the delinquent to a whole bunch of ridiculous newsletters, submitting his e-mail address to dozens of mailing lists, and posting messages using their e-mail address on Usenet groups doesn't do it for you? The spam count on his inbox would easily triple.

My favorite tactic, and the one that's worked best, is a gift subscription to Penthouse, mailed to their place of business. It's cheap, easy and effective.

But don't adult entertainment magazines usually come in discreet opaque plastic bags? You can't tell whether it's an annual report from GM or a Penthouse mag.
