It looks like WD finally has a 7200 RPM 1TB drive consisting of three 333GB platters. When will there be 1.5TB drives?

You are clearly suffering from some kind of deficiency of imagination.

All a five year warranty on a WD drive means is that you'll have an opportunity to double the cost of the hard disk in shipping charges from UPS/Fedex.

After a year or so it is not worth returning most defective drives for a refurbished replacement.

We're talking about Western Digital here. They're not worth returning for replacement as soon as you buy them.
