My hatred of nvidia is not blind. It is the result of countless obnoxious experiences with poorly made products.

It's okay, Mercutio. Just calm down.

You're safe now. They can't hurt you any more.

I went with P5's sense of humour. Not to insult, but because it scared the crap out of me. (his stroke post)

No offense taken. Even I am afraid of my sense of humor. Guess who voted with you.

CougTek's complaining about Prof's complaing about Blakewry's polls
I have complained about PW several times, but I don't remember complaining about that.
CougTek's blind hatred of the place that he used to buy Deathstars from
Another part of my posting career I have no memory from. None of the Deskstar I bought failed (I skipped the 75GXP).

I didn't vote BTW. The option "none of the above" was missing.

And I like Mark's sense of humor...

Coug, I have been accused of many things in my time, but perfect truthfulness isn't one of them. Why else do you think I included other such Storage Forum urban myths as P5's sense of humor? But If I may revert to telling the truth for just one moment, the "blind hatred" of yours that I had in mind was for the loosers who inspired this magnificent rant:

CougTek said:
Fuc***g bunch of half-@$$ stupid bastards!!! I took care to call the place where I was about to buy the Deskstar and they told me they had plenty in stock and I didn't have to worry if I would come in the early afternoon to pick up a drive. What happened when I went there 1 hour and a half later? Nope, no drive at all. !"¢¢¾¬¦£@%!!!!!!! Just a bunch of lazy peddlers occupied to talk about they they meanless lives and totally clueless why someone told me they had it stock.

ARRGGGHH!!! Too bad there are cameras there, I would have taken no prisonners. I first ask about the drive to a dummy (The first time I went there, that same lame ignorant told me that it makes no difference if a CD-ROM reader has a maximum advertized speed of 40x or 52X because, according to his endless knowledge, no CD-ROM reader can read quicker than 36X, and he wasn't talking about the average transfer speed - I told him we learn something new each day) on the other side of the counter. Negative answer. Because I insisted, he turned to "the local pro of the shop" (a know-it-all arch-peddler that everyone could mistake for a car seller) who told me the same thing. He then asked me if I would like a 60+ instead. I answered that I wanted a 80GB drive. He just told me that he had a 80GB 60+ in stock, not remarking that I looked at him like he if was escaped from a psy hospital. I then asked him what is a 60+ for him. He replied (as if I was the clueless customer) that it was a Maxtor. An 80GB Maxtor 60+, yeah right. The imbecile probably memorized the model number of the last generation of Maxtor drives and will use it untill mainstream drives reach 300GB capacities.

I turned back and exit the store before I kill someone. All these knowledge-free peddlers have qualified to become HP vomit box sellers in my book, but they have no business in the DIY market. And don't tell them they are wrong, they ARE the professionals and you're the know-nothing guy. I'm lucky not to carry a weapon on myself and to drive a small car, or else I would currently be driving North in search of a lost spot to deposit the five corpses in large green bags that would be on my back seat.

I didn't think you were refering to THAT place. I remember they pissed me off, but I forgot it was because of a Deskstar order.

My personal online pet peeve (since I just got done having an awful conversation with Amy and I'm in the mood to be nasty to everyone): Loose = the state of not-tightness. Lose = The state of not-winning.

And while I'm at it: It's = it is. Its = it possesses. Their = belonging to them. They're = They are.

I forget where Mark displayed his sense of humor, can someone post some of it. It can't be that scary...

OK, I've *GOT* to do better than 3rd place.

Top 10 Things to do with a Geforce4:

10. Piss on it.
9. Make sweet love to it
8. Detach GPU from PCB. Use as keychain.
7. Steal from loving idio... owner. Mail back one memory module at a time.
6. Actually use all the bits that come with your Dremel.
5. To prop up the short leg of the couch
4. Under a gibbous moon with the blood of a motherless goat...
3. Force it to display AOL crap until the whole universe collapses in a swirling singularity of sub-mediocrity.
2. Trade for something decent, such as a slightly used facial tissue.
1. Nail it to a wall as a warning to all the others.

Yeah, I noticed too that my spelling in the quoted rant was awful, but I don't think I was in a mood to do a lot of proof-reading back when I wrote it.

Even though I don't feel any option is appropriated, I'll vote anyway. Too curious about the results (don't count my vote for "all of the above" - I had to choose an option not sibling anyone) .

i like #3 too. if you're going to head towards becoming a 'swirling singularity of sub-mediocrity', then AOL is a good place to begin as you pretty much get a good headstart.

Must've missed it. If you're writing love-poems about asstastic hardware, I think I'd rather not know about it.
