Hi all, long time since posting, but haven't had much to contribute. I have been lurking though.

I have a question about Windows server. In Solaris, you can protect applications in a shared environment with projects. The projects command can limit the amount of memory an application can use, file handles that can be opened and a lot of other constraints. If you need more robust protection, you could split a server up in multiple LDOM (Logical Domains - zones). LPARS on AIX behave similarly. Does Windows server have anything similar, apart from software VM's?

Thanks Chewy, that's exactly what I was looking for.

I was told by a couple of Windows sysadmins at work that there wasn't anything equivalent.

I am omnipresent
I'm a little bit surprised there isn't a commercial product out there that adds work-alike functionality. Implement a *nix feature on Windows used to be a vibrant market and I suspect that it often led to the inclusion of new features in new versions of Windows.
