    Ford Mustang 2012 review

Overall mileage for the week has been 24 miles to gallon. Not much less then my Toyota, and a hell of a lot more fun.

    Ford Mustang 2012 review

How long has this engine been around? It's an Aluminum block, and cylinder head, with 12.0:1 compression, generates 160 to 252 HP out of 122 cubic inches, and is turbo charged. That's all great under warranty. However once it's outside warranty your dead. Warranty is 5 years 60,000 miles...

You should try getting engine information from the Ford website. The current offerings are here: http://www.ford.com/cars/focus/specifications/engine/ As for reading comprehension: What does this mean? "Coming late 2012" In other words, not offered now. Europe has a 305 HP version of that...

Merc, I can see going again to see the Avengers. I went tonight, 2D for me, and the movie was pretty incredible. I enjoyed the Loki-God Meets Hulk scene in particular;-) Went at 11PM, and it was still 30% full, on a Thursday night. The Cosmic Cube had to lead to Thanos. Seems to me they...

    Ford Mustang 2012 review

What I miss is the Mustang 3.7L 305 HP engine being offered in the Focus. The focus engines, 2.0L, are VERY highly tuned and seem to use ungodly compression ratios for the garbage octane gas we have today. Amazing how they get so much power out of such bad fuel. 160 HP is a LONG way from a 305...

Shaving solutions, or, what do Gilette and all those companies do with all their $?

Update: Ran through the cheap blades. 33 cents each for Japanese Super Sharp blades. Feathers. So far two shaves out of the blade. It's just smooth. When I get done I get the distinct feeling an outer layer of skin has been removed. Much more so then the cheap 7 am blades. Less cuts with the...

Been looking at the Ford Focus. Seems the neat ones aren't sold in the US. RS 305 and RS 500. I'd love the Focus size car with the 3.7 liter V-6 305 HP in it.

Old i7 vs. New i5 (or Xeon E3)

I think it would be kind of funny giving them a bunch of machines that even though old, they are not likely to approach 10% CPU useage in any task they will do, for 10 years.

Nichia Develops 60 Lumen Per Watt White LED

How to deal with wind chill?

Reno provides a lot of temptations. When you wake up at 5am and the bars are still open it puts it in perspective. People are STILL gambling, loosing money. Cabs have signs for Mustang Ranch on the top of their cars all over the place. I didn't bring anyone. At my age and considering the...

    Ford Mustang 2012 review

The experience of driving an open wheel race car is what it's really about. At 1000-1200 pounds, even an 80 HP FV is VERY quick. It's also very cheap, compared to an Atom. Having your ass 3 inches off the floor with blinding acceleration is sensation of speed, much like you get in a 10 second...

    Ford Mustang 2012 review

I REALLY enjoyed the video of the Atom and the Stig running the car through the track. Funny how the car didn't really look fast through the track. A cheaper route would be just buying a formula Vee Track car. You get a body and a windscreen. We had a couple cars around that terrified their...

Essentially the same thing I drove on the street, in the 70-90 period. I can't find the listing now. Ford had a pretty much race prepared Mustang for sale for about 80 thousand, US. Roll cage, the entire setup. It was yellow. I see the car as a Nascar weight car, without the benefits of using that size. The old Nascars, like the Daytona Charger, where huge cars...

Odd. I remember both but thought the comics predated (1963) the TV show (1961 to about 70). I was wrong. I'm going to have to see if I can find the 62-64 episodes with Honor Blackman. I always liked her acting;-)

Good stuff on airplane tickets: http://www.ibiblio.org/rdu/ca-speed.html Appears the airplanes actually WARN you by hitting you with radar to determine your speed or they have to call an officer that then has to manage to pace you. That brings up one of the two major faults with the mustang...

    Ford Mustang 2012 review

Would I buy one? Probably not. It's pretty expensive. I like the gas mileage on the freeway and the speed. I don't really like the lack of feeling in the power steering. I do like being able to blow up hills really fast. It's fun easily doing 80-90 up hills even if the gas consumption is bad...

Old i7 vs. New i5 (or Xeon E3)

What are they using the computers for? The new i5's use about half the power of the i7's and as stated are generally faster. As a person who lives in a state where power consumption is expensive I might be bothered if my energy bill went up considerably when the new processors are so green.

    What's the best 32" 1080p LED TV?

My ex-wife took me to Japan three times to visit her family in Osaka. Panasonic had stuff we could only dream of at the time. What's the best 32" 1080p LED TV?

I can't say which is the best. I have had a Panasonic 32" LED from Costco. I could not tell much difference between the LED 27" Samsung monitors and the 32" panel. Be careful if power is an issue. The 32" TV drew nearly 60W of power. The 27" 20 W. I find the 37" sort of a price/value sweet spot.
