    Cases (more general)

Cases are something of an issue for us at present. Traditionally, we have carried 3 lines: A premium case. Quality PSU, moderately expensive. Slow but steady seller. A standard case. Cheap as we can get without sacrificing too much - i.e., we can't put up with shoddy build quality, too much...

    Quick video editing software recommendation

Thanks for the contrary view, Mangy One! I've never tried any of the various video editing packages around, nor am I likely to: moving pictures just don't do anything for me (as witness the fact that my cable TV hookup has been faulty for 3 weeks and I haven't bothered ringing up to ask them to...

    Quick video editing software recommendation

Quick recommendation required. I have a customer who needs a video editing software package. He is considering Pinnacle 8 DV to take the output from a JVC digital video camera, and output to DVD. Cost of that package is $279AU. I have heard numerous horror stories about Pinnacle software and...

For me, the main reason I don't want a 300D (damned if I'll use that stupid America-only name for it) is that it's crippled in multishot mode. I forget the exact figures now, but with the 300D you get less than half as many shots in a continuous sequence. (As compared with the 10D.) For...

OK, I'm getting the picture. You are going to be frustrated with any of the non-SLR digitals, Merc. There seem to be only two questions. (1) Which digital SLR is the right one for you? (2) Would you do better to buy a relatively inexpensive non-SLR camera to start with, master that, have time...

    Cleaning up spyware

I bought Ad-Aware Pro but am not clear on how you are supposed to keep it up to date. It's probably simple enough, but I just get so tired of buggerising about finding licence keys and special download sites for registered versions and serial numbers and mother's maiden names and all the rest of...

One thing you might consider, Merc, is the Leica range. Leica's digital units are a little odd-ball, but they are designed around the idea of high speed and ease of use. Don't just buy one! Look carefully and work out if it's the right answer for you.

"Shoot very quickly"? Are you meaning shutter delay here? I.e., you don't want to press the sutter release and then wait 3/4 of a second the way tou have to with my Nikons? Or something else, such as the ability to bang off quite a few snaps on the fly?

You may have met the bug we have met several times, Edward. It occurrs with the combination of an Nforce sound chipset and one or more of the reasonably recent Media Player versions. Question regarding the "Driver" d/l's available on

I'm not sure about the specifics, but the general thrust is to make it impossible to manufacture any hardware without having a friendly relatonship with Microsoft.
