    Mobile Rack

I'm using the motherboard RAID. I'm looking into accessing pin 11 on the SATA power connector. That is supposed to be the 'activity' pin.

    Mobile Rack

I have a Supermicro mobile rack similar to this. It came with connectors so each of the five hard drives could have a led come on whenever the drive was active. My motherboard only has one hard drive led connector. Does anyone have any idea how I could get all five leds to work, independently.

    System Recommendation

I said I had just ordered that case with the extra fans. Adding just one fan to the other case would push the price up to the Illusion, so I bought the Illusion with two extra fans. I didn't mean to imply he would need them.

    System Recommendation

I just ordered the parts for build using an Intel BOXDH57DD motherboard, an Intel Pentium 6950, Antec Three Hundred Illusion, and an Antec Earthwatts EA430D. I bought the Antec Three Hundred Illusion as it is the same case as the 100 and other 300 but comes with two more fans. Adding a single...

    Question for a nutritionist

Garden hose and a chamber pot. For 3K I think I would have him chained to a post. I know how you feel though. I wired a house for a guy a few years back. He set the house on fire to collect the insurance money, blaming the fire on my wiring. But the dumb-ass didn't wait until the power company...

The tanks could be made to fit where the gasoline tank is now. They would be heavier though. The MPG of propane vehicles is about the same as gasoline, so a tank would only have to be about the same size. Installing the infrastructure for an electric buss system would be extremely expensive...

What I don't understand is why we aren't looking to natural gas for cars. Propane or LNG. Maybe even methane. It burns clean, we have plenty of it, we can even extract methane from land fills. Gasoline and diesel engines can be converted to burn it. It can even power jet turbine engines to...

Bikes are nice if you under 40 years old. They are also nice if you have a nice flat terrain to travel, and a short distance to go. Riding in the rain is the pits. In the freezing weather and snow is almost impossible. Electric cars are not ready for prime time. I can see me asking my employer...

I have been using 350W to 650W 80+ power supplies for the last 3-4 years. I keep three spares in stock now. 2-MT350 (or MT352) for the minuete cases, and 3 or 4 Earthwatts 430w and 1 Earthwatts 650W. This covers everything I have installed. ~175 computers. Also, 99% of my cases are Antec, so a...

The computer in question is dedicated to doing scheduled tasks. Usually 4-6 an hour, 24/7/365. With Windows 7 you must refresh the screen each time you need to...

Time, the computers I build go into an industrial enviorment; dirt, dirt, and more dirt. Also, because we convert AC to DC (and in some cases back to AC) all the SCR switching and power factors that approach 20%, our computers take a beating. We also pump DC back into the AC line through SCRs...
