Why not go into Device Manager and turn off write caching first, reboot, and then run dcpromo?

It's my understanding that with the OTA tv now all digital, you don't need a huge or expensive tv antennae. As close as you are, a pair of rabbit ears might work. I've also read that HD is clearer on an OTA setup as it's not compressed at all, unlike cable or satellite.

Only jumbo sized cases need apply. But it is quiet. :-D

Screen resolution and Hertz are set too high. Plug it into a monitor and set it at a low resolution. 800x600, 60hertz should work.

All true. In my case I need 2.5 reading glasses to read ( I have bi-focal glasses), and 1.5 reading glasses for the computer.

My "computer glasses" are so-called reading glasses that you can get almost any where for about $10.

Linux Mint can read and write to NTFS. You can download a boot-able disk from here. Yellow Fiber Networks seems to have decent speed.

If the BIOS sees the drive you might want to download Partition Wizard (it's free) and write all zeros to the drive. At least it will be back to factory specs.

I had a computer running in an air conditioned room for over 5 years. Never had a problem with it. Then the A/C failed. The room temperature slowly climbed to 85F at which point the computer failed. Only then did I realize the the case fan and power supply fan had failed at some earlier time...

I think you'll find 95% of all 'gamer' computers have only one video card with some mid to high end CPU, and lots of memory. The computers with multiple video cards, extream CPUs and power supplys that could be used for welding, are very rare. (and usually only found on the net) Paying $5000.00...

I just make sure there is air flow from front to rear of the case. Usually the rear and/or the top exhaust fan is sufficiant. I usually block any vent holes in the sides of the case, to encourage front to rear air flow.

There is a huge difference between a TGV and an American freight train. The freight train is pulling over 3000 tons of freight. Fully loaded TGVs weigh about 481 tons. I would think stopping anything weighing 3000+ tons from 60 MPH in less than a mile is pretty damm good.

The supply problems are being caused by the mess in Japan. Not that they build the parts, but they supply a lot of componates. I have also noticed prices creeping up too.
