I have enough headaches at work let alone do it for family members on my time off. The last one I worked on was a very corrupted hard drive. After spending hours trying to recover data from the drive (there were no backups of course) I told the owner what I did, and what I tried and the reply...

Does Vista remind you of the Mac OS????

I don't move to a new OS for a new GUI and bells and whistles and bloat. I want an OS that has performance and does what I want, not some programers idea of what they think I want. Right now I am testing Server 2008 as a desktop OS. It's okay, but it still has a lot of bloat and there are things...

Ideas for reducing PC power consumption

I replace my power supply with an Earthwatts unit. Notice a dip in the electric bill. The power supply is 80% efficient which means it is not using electric to produce heat. It is also Power Factor corrected which means you are not consuming electric to be able to consume electric. Bozo :joker:

Fortunatly, I have only broke the connector during the initial install. I have noticed lately that a lot of cables don't appear very tight on the hard drive connector. They wiggle around once installed. That can't be good. Bozo :joker:

    SATA Ports

The Antec Minuete 350 cases I have been getting lately have a standard SATA slot on the front of the case. There is a cable attached to it that plugs into the motherboard. But nothing for power. Some Intel motherboards are shipping with an expansion slot SATA adaptor. Bozo :joker:

SSDs - State of the Product?

I recently set up a box with two 3Ware RAID cards in it. When I entered the setup program during boot up, both cards showed up in the same setup page. I was wondering if two or more RAID cards could be set up as a single RAID 0 drive. That would eliminate the bottleneck. Bozo :joker:
