Having less luck with Tiger Woods 2003 on the pc. Apparently the Matrox P650 driver is not working real well. See if the patch fixes it. Just had to reinstall the entire game... Do a complete install, then the game asks for the CD's? This one maybe going back. Costco is a wonderful thing... s

Don't ask... Probably because it can look really good, using the Voodoo 5500 and the Sony monitor, and, perhaps I just hate to see all that software sit in a box. The end result was, crashed system. Somehow I changed the setting for the video card to out of range for the monitor... The result...

RAZER does a pretty good job of describing that on their website. In games, you get percise targeting, without skipping over your target, thanks to the high dpi rating. It's also easier on your wrist, since you don't have to move it as much. The Boomslang line just worked great, and fit my...

    SCSI questions

The cages should provide scsi id numbers, and termination. Of course your boxes are from compaq, so I'd check. Also, you need a driver for the box. You can set scsi ID's to be before 7 or after 7 by jumper. If you use two boxes in series, I wonder if both need termination jumpered on...

    SCA: SCSI, IDE, or SATA?

Merc: I don't know, but the ATA line has never been a real speed burner, so I hoped it was reliable... And I got the model wrong, it was a 15.2, IIRC. 15.3 is on the shelf, after coming out of this mac, since it wasn't much faster then the two cheetahs in Raid 0, and, the Tempo drivers were...

That would probably explain the deference I've felt using scsi, in raid 0, or in general. With Raid 0, I believe the extra cache, and more effective data transfer design, along with superior chips, and algorithims, make the effect more dramatic then the statistics might indicate. In other...

    21 160GB drives tested

Depends on your purpose. I HAVE to have reliable storage, for some data. This means DVD backup, CD backup, the most reliable ide drive I could find, and, in the future, SCA drives for storage, and removeable, to further reduce their stress time. Boot wise, reinstalling an OS is no big deal...

Quaxtor does offer the DiamondMax with a 5 year warranty. So far, it's been a real bitch, not working on a 100 ATA Intel chipset channel, but, working on whorrers, an ATA133 Promise X2 or something like that, in my machine. Not fast, but, so far it hasn't failed, which is very important. s

Yes, two Cheetahs in Raid 0 are faster then one Cheetah, first generation, and it gives me plenty of storage space, even though it's on single channel. It's a pain to wait for 9.21 to boot with a single drive, and the dual setup is much quicker. Seems to elimenate a lag of about 30-45 seconds...
