    Sous Vide cooking Great stuff

That's somewhat challenging in the grand scheme of things. I'm cooking for only myself, sous vide isn't a the way you cook something when you want leftovers for the week, & decent prices on food are obtained by buying more than a single serving of something. So, even if I buy the meat in a...

    Sous Vide cooking Great stuff

Today I made a boneless/skinless chicken breast with the sous vide. I seasoned it with Weber Kickin' Chicken seasoning, sealed it in the vacuum bag with a very small drizzle of olive oil and cooked it at 148F for 2 hours. It was only slightly defrosted which is why I cooked it for so long. I...

You don't think that's a really bad model? Someone can deny you your rights now, when you need them, by abusing their power and the system and your only recourse is that you can spend your own money and try to take them to court later and try to get a court ruling vindicating you? Where do you...

I do want to buy a used car

I very much like the moonroof in my current Audi. It was somewhat dark glass from the factory and I had a fairly dark ceramic tint added to it. I never have to close the shade due to heat. I like the extra light in the car and I often tilt it open for some extra airflow.

Here you go again... First, you seem to misunderstand the verdict of the Schenck decision. The court decided that false dangerous speech was not protected. Second, I'd argue that the decision is dubious. Who gets to decide what's false and dangerous? People in power thought the ideas of...

This is a pointless discussion. You're not using any logic. Murder is morally wrong. The Constitution / Bill of Rights doesn't declare anyone's right to murder. Lets look at the 1st Amendment. Does it have any exceptions? Does it allow the gov't to control speech if speech is offensive...

Email forwarding from dead email address

E-mail isn't like snail mail. There is no post office that all e-mail goes through before it's delivered to you. It's more like a giant mesh network and an e-mail can take a nearly infinite number of paths to the mailbox. As a result there's no way to intercept it along the way.

I'd argue all these high tech systems make the drivers lazy / complacent. Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving is inherently dangerous IMO. It works well most of the time which lulls the driver into a false sense of complacency. So, when the system fails and dumps control back to the driver...

    Vehicle Telemetry Recorders

The whole crew including the pilots sleep on the long international flights. They're not sleeping in the cockpit (or aren't supposed to). There are sleeping quarters for the crew on the larger jets. There is enough crew to account for this and they take turns sleeping vs. working. Depending...

No, that's not what I'm saying. Stop being so intentionally obtuse. Tesla's "Autopilot" is not capable of fully autonomous operation, which the name implies. How do you know that? Do you think pilots are there actively engaged paying attention ready to grab the stick and controls with a...

    Vehicle Telemetry Recorders

I'm well aware of that. Still it's less capable than the autopilot system on modern planes (which can follow waypoints and the like). And, as you point out things go wrong much faster in a car because they operate in a much more confined space. Hence my belief that the name is misleading.

Oh spare me... Tap water is quite drinkable in every state I've been in. Additionally, there are these things called water filters. What percentage of the time do you think the pilot's hands are on the stick when a passenger jet is on autopilot? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the driver wasn't at fault. What I'm saying is that Tesla shouldn't be allowed to call the feature autopilot because the name portrays a level of...

I cooked my first Sous Vide item today, a piece of salmon. I roughly followed this article. I went for 120F and cooked it for about 50 minutes while I was mowing. I used some seafood seasoning that was in the cupboard along with some salt and pepper on it. I was not nearly as generous with...
