    question Good SATA card?

And who here doesn't? If you need to keep more than 2TB locally, it's time to figure out where you are going wrong. Backups or versions? Neither of these generally needs to be local. If you're afraid that bandwidth is a problem and wouldn't use network accessibility, you can always go with...

Generally, five years is about what consumer CFLs are rated to last under "normal" conditions. One must keep in mind that, although CFLs are getting cheaper and better, those two things don't necessarily go together. I don't usually put new CFLs in bathrooms, as other conditions there tend to...

    Firefox 11.0 is out.

I've never seen it use more than 2GB; I don't think that the Windows compile has large addresses enabled. Memory usage isn't of much concern for me, except that I wish that it could use more.

    Firefox 11.0 is out.

No, because 3GB is the upper limit on the amount of memory it could address. However, if the amount of addressable memory was larger, then the memory cache could be larger.

Their tech has to do it to keep the warranty valid. Since Thinkpad manuals are freely available, there's really nothing that I could not do on one. It's parts that can be problematic. Personally, I'm a little skittish to send my personal information off to who-knows-where.

Have they figured out how to use 32-bit plugins on 64-bit Firefox? There's been 64-bit versions of Fx for as long as I can remember, but plugins were always a problem. I figured that spinning the plugins off into their own process was the step needed to make this happen, but I haven't heard...

I wouldn't really be concerned about on-off cycling in the life of the light. I turn my CFLs on and off when entering or exiting a room, and they usually last at least five years. I've even put one in the refrigerator, which is terribly bad. My last CFL that failed was almost ten years old...

HD capacity to double by 2016

I will just point out that, unless you're looking directly at your lights for some reason, then all of the light that you see in an office is reflected and has interacted with the internals of the space in some way. I'm guessing that this is because you are comparing them to your sickly yellow ones. Your eye and brain will automatically white balance whatever light you are seeing. question How do people buy music these days?

It just sounds like you're trying to justify money that you've already spent. You don't have to pay Pandora, let alone any other source, to suggest music to you. Pandora isn't a charity case. They had about $139 million is revenue last year; almost 90% of that was from advertising.

question How do people buy music these days?

I think the issue here is that you don't have a music collection that you manage, anyway. That's additional work for you. The only time that I spend managing my music is when I add something. I don't spend any time creating playlists, sorting, or shuffling (there's a player function for...
