    StorageForum Statistics page

LOL - the Top Posters graph looks like something from SR, with Mercutio statistically emulating the X15.4, Handy & Blakerboy neck and neck as the Maxline III and the Deskstar 7K400! I can't believe I'm up towards the top, ahead of Tea and Tannin! I must have way to much free time on my hands...

Suggestions for hooking up cable internet. Part II

Netopia, LinkSys, D-Link, Netgear - several years of no lockups. For some reason my old Netopia router is quite dear to me -- maybe because it cost so much, or maybe because it didn't have a fancy GUI (Telnet baby!).

I just purchased 5 of those BenQ drives, and they seem to work just fine. I used one to burn several CDs this weekend, and my Magix audio software seemed quite happy with the drive.

IIS / Frontpage extensions can't download EXE?

I just tested, and as I suspected, it's not case sensitive. Dave, I intalled 2003 Server, SP1 and any Express updates. I activated the roll of the server for Applications (IIS, ASP.Net). I copied your HTML code, created a new page and then switched your MoveIt.exe to iexplore.exe (of course...

IIS / Frontpage extensions can't download EXE?

Just a wild guess, could the file name be case sensitive? I know that isn't normal with Windows (at least it wasn't that way with NT), but my host uses Unix, and everything is case sensitive.

    WD800JB, 80gb 8mb buffer drives, should I buy?

Believe me, I would never argue with someone like Mercutio who has had an unusually high volume of WD drives fail. To disagree with his personal experiences would demand that he is a liar, which would be very presumptuous on my part. Nonetheless, from my experiences, his example is unique...

They're nice drives Paugie. No, they don't include the latest platter density or FDB, but they have worked well for me.

Peter, If you do go down the data recovery path, the best companies in and around the U.S. are Action Front, Data Mechanix, and Ontrack. I have personally work with all of them; Data Mechanix is local for me, which makes them convenient and it helps that they're nice blokes (don't be fooled by...

Within the next week I'll be assembling a system with the P-180 case and a 4400+ x2 CPU. Customer specified both, and in this situation I think the P-180 case will provide what they need (although I wouldn't normally quote such an expensive case, nor one with a door).
