I'm thinking this is a VIA problem (good old VIA again). Copying a 2GB file from my 7K250 8MB cache SATA on a SIl 3114 ---> 7K250 2MB cache PATA on the nVidia controller nets me about 18% CPU usage. Sorry I can't be of further help. CPU is a 2500+ @ 2400Mhz.

Do you guys think one of those 22" Mitsubishi's would look better than the 2005FPW? The only think I'd miss is Widescreen. I use one of those big as Sony widescreen monitors at work and I absolutely love it. the 2005FPW was really nice in widescreen to. I really like the widescreen aspect...

WIth my ISP (Wideopenwest). I have the Ultra package which is supposed to be limited to 4000/500. However, with the new Arris Telephony modems (which handle internet access and phone traffic from my house to the switching station) my ISP has not been able to figure out how to throttle them...

It's an ATI manufatured card which has 3 year warranty. Not sure how good their RMA service is though. Guess my bud will be finding out if he isn't too lazy (and just buys another card).

IIRC, I think DISKCOPY is for floppy disks. I'd use Norton Ghost to do the copy. If you don't have a copy of that, you could try xxcopy which is freeware. I've used that in the past although it has been a while. C

I RMA'd a 60GXP and got a new 120GXP one time so I don't think it's all that unusual to get 'new' replacements for older drives (depending on where the products are in their life cycles.). C

I think refurbished drives are usually labeled as such. Sounds to me like you got a new drive, especially since it has a newer manufacture date.

My understanding is the AVG7 'quarntines' the viruses and you can empty the 'virus vault' whenever you want.

Fush- When you have it run as a service, it runs as a 'system' service. Nobody needs to be logged on. I've been running that way for a long time with nobody logged onto my XP Pro machine I'm using as a file server and folder.... C
