I don't think I'd introduce chef for a single system based on my previous experience with it. Though it may have improved over the last two years. I'd probably try to use straight docker first before adding additional complexity.

    Lots of Snow

Yes, most people take the train, so the snow shouldn't affect people's ability to get downtown.

GPU slot failed on 2 different computers

My natural gas bill was $135 for last month in our new house and it wasn't even that cold. I'd like to keep the electric bill lower. Our new house costs significantly more to heat and cool. So, I probably won't be contributing for awhile.

I've paid cash at urgent care when I was out of state and it was less than $200 to have a minor procedure done. I've gotten quotes for urgent care in Chicago without insurance and there were also less than $200 to see a doctor.

    Phone Dying

It's possible that all smartphones are for shit in general. Though my LG G3 stopped working when it was around 20 months old. I still bought an LG G5 as a replacement because there was no other desirable option.

    Less insecure house locks

I thought about having my locks replaced, but seems like a pain. While we were out of town my friend stopped by to put a package in my house, he ended up locking my keys and his keys inside. He called a locksmith that "owed him a favor." The locksmith was unable to pick the lock, so that gives...

    Less insecure house locks

Where we used to live in an 11 unit condo building after a break in, I had all the external locks replaced with Mul-T-Lock. You have to have a card with a code to get the key copied. Even if you find a locksmith that will copy a Mul-T-Lock key without the card, it's highly likely it won't work.

I want to buy a new car

My wife and I decided to replace my 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. We need something a bit larger to hold two carseats. We decided on a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium with the 2.0 L Ecoboost engine. The dealer has to get it from another dealer in Wisconsin or Michigan, but it should look about like...

It depends on what you mean by IT work, but there are plenty of good technology jobs downtown Chicago, the western suburbs, and the northern suburbs.

    Cloud Backup

Comcast had a cap for a long time but didn't enforce it depending on your region/state. However, they are enforcing it now. If I started running into the cap I would switch to RCN, which has no cap.
