    Ideally, you should be able to build a duplicate system and replicate the problem. If the duplicate system doesn't manifest the same issue you could begin swapping hardware.

    KT600 = absent

    I've seen a steady increase of P4 boards from Abit, Aopen, Asus, DFI, and MSI. Then for second place, AMD chips are battling between nVidia and VIA, with nVidia taking some of the major inventory space away from VIA. Of course, this is all from a distribution inventory perspective.

    Good point sechs. I believe DVDShrink uses the libraries from which ever burning software you have installed. So, if Nero is installed, then those would be the libraries that DVDShrink would use.

    Seagate 10k.6 discontinued ??

    I'll check with my distributor, but they do show the item in stock. I would have it available for $214.95. But, like I said, I'll confirm the inventory.

    DVD Burner weirdness

    So, it's not the burner, media, burning software, cable, or user. It would also seem that it is unrelated to other applications and drivers, since you ghosted a new image that works for other clients (I'm expecting that there weren't any changes to the settings or files on this new ghosted...

    How to make a gigapixel picture

    I need to take some more pictures. I like those panoramic pictures from the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and also from Scotland. The "stacked" effect is cool, but I should be able to create that with one shot through my manual XG-1.

    [NEWZ] Svelte Monster: 3-Platter 400 GB 7200.8

    The assumption is that a drive manufacturer will yield 133-gigabytes from each platter -- but they won't. Drive manufacturers will have a prime format for high-yield drives and then alternate formats for lower-yield products. I would expect that Seagate will have a prime format of 133 and at...

    Xeon solution vs. P4 for single processor?

    The Athlon XP 2500+ coupled with the a KT-600 board, like the Gigabyte GA-7VT600P-RZ, makes for an excellent system, especially for the price. However, if you are looking at the current higher-end processors, let’s say the Athlon XP 3200+ through to the new Intel P4 570, the Athlon 64 3400+...

    Help! what is this IBM SCA tray bolt?

    Ah yes, these little thorns are common on OEM systems, such as IBM, Compaq, HP, etc. It works best if you buy the appropriate tool (yes, it is a standard torx size, but you'll need the hole to absorb the pin).
