As you may have guessed Dave I know little to nothing about statistics. Thank you for the explanation. I'm glad it was only Tea that I was teasing and not Tony. :mrgrn: (Mums the word Tea).

    Ever deepening hatred for WD

Good Lord! Don't tell me that Tannin is relying on his own failure rates to make decisions as to what Hard Drives he sells! How unscientific can you get? He might as well be relying on SR's Reliability survey. :)

    What about Howard Dean?

Wrong. The rules the Florida Supreme Court should have followed are in the U.S. Constitution. I pointed out the specific rule in the Constitution that they should have followed. Wrong. I very clearly explained exactly how the Fourteenth Amendment applied and how it made clear what should be...

    What about Howard Dean?

sechs, This is a discussion. It is not supposed to be a one sided conversion where you ask all the questions and I answer them. No one is in "charge" per se. I was very patient with your terse replies and your refusal to respond to the questions which I put to you. My questions were sincere...

    What about Howard Dean?

You could have simply made this point earlier if that's what you meant and saved us both a lot of trouble. In fact I specifically asked you if that was what you meant and you never answered. Why not? Game playing were we? BTW - If the voters had followed the instructions on how to vote there...

    What about Howard Dean?

Not to bore everyone to death but I have to take issue with you on this. First let me re-quote a portion of the same passage above but without editing out a key portion of it which is crucial imho in understanding why the Court decided to reverse the the Fl. Supreme Court; As I read that, the...

Is the the following from their decision where you get the above from? Doesn't the highlighted text refer to Justice Breyer's proposed remedy only and is not the grounds on which the Court based their decision?

    What about Howard Dean?

Hmm... I thought that the time constraint was one not a Constitutional one per se but rather a result of the six day rule which was established by Title 3, Chapter 1, Section 5 of the U.S.C.? No? As for the Supreme Court's decision and my statement that the Court had found the Florida...

    What about Howard Dean?

I have highlighted the applicable text as regards the Supreme Court's decision. Implicit in this text is the "rule" that - No State may deny any person within it's juristiction the equal protection of the laws. The Supreme Court in it's decision found that; In other words not only must every...

Where are you on the political spectrum (test)?

Note the word "I" in my statement sechs. I was only speaking for myself when I said they were inseparable. I did not say that the questions forced one to "change" their beliefs. Nor do I think that the test contains a hidden agenda of some sort. I used the words "compromise" and "hedge"...

    What about Howard Dean?

Are you talking about the lack of uniform rules for ascertaining a voters intent when the ballot cannot be clearly read? If so, to that extent your I agree that your original statement is valid, I concede the point - and I retract my objection to it. On the other hand if you are suggesting...

Where are you on the political spectrum (test)?

Actually I believe that the two are inseperable because imo that which serves one - serves the other. If you have to compromise or hedge on your beliefs to answer the questions then how accurate is the test result going to be?

    What about Howard Dean?

I could but I don't think that we have enough storage space on the server for me to post the Florida State Consitution, the entire Florida Judicial code, the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Judicial code. Every step of the way there were rules and regulations dictating what should be done, when...

Where are you on the political spectrum (test)?

Where are you on the political spectrum (test)?

I didn't get past the first page. Too many questions are of the - "Do you still beat your wife?" - sort with only "Yes" or "No" being offered as possible answers.

    WMD? Never heard of them.

Well as I read the article what is in question is not whether Blair said Iraq had WMD, but whether they had them such that they could deploy them in 45 minutes. I don't find the fact that Rumsfeld cannot recall that specific statement having been made by Blair to very significant. He's not...

    What about Howard Dean?

Based on the reaction of the media and public opinion I would say that right now it appears that Kerry poses the biggest threat. But all of the hoopla over him may only be a honey-moon period he's going through - too soon to tell. Kerry has a long history of supporting issues from left of...

    What about Howard Dean?

I suspect you're right. Edwards could come on strong next tuesday. Kerry is a decent man and has his good points (war hero) but the baggage he carries from his anti-war days and his voting record in the Senate will catch up with him in the general election if he gets that far.
