I think when trying to take interesting people photo's what is most needed is genuine emotion being expressed and that is a very hard thing to capture. It is that emotion that makes the photographic message believable.

Basicly, they were not trying to fix the increased PPD, but rather they are striving to fix a bug that showed up with 185.20 drivers and the unfortunately the increased PPD was the casuality. Mastter of fact, the added thread syncronation needed has slightly decreased PPD for all drivers.

Stanford just released v1.25 of core_14 which is designed eliminate to speedup with 185.20 drivers. It was good while it lasted. Unfortunately, it was only a very short run.

If the machine runs Vista, changing the screens dpi can also help.

The PPD increase will only occur with Core_14 (59xx WU's).

Not for me, I've had good sucess. I do however, before I try apps I typically update drivers and then use Windows update and get the OS back to snuff. It does tend to take quit a bit of time because of those updates.

It depends on how often the SSD gets written to. If the application is still getting more of these files, then yes you will need an Intel drive to eliminate pauses. If it has become basicly read only then you can get away with a lower-end SSD. Here is a very good article on SSD performance...
