    Tesltra Big Pong

Did anyone else heer that on a reasent poll by ZDnet OZ asking "Is Telstras broadband internet good value" the responses were about 25 to 1 against(surprise) at one stage and about half an hour latter 25 to 200 odd. ZDnet traced the several hundred positive responses back to an IP on Telstras...

BluTac and PCs - or is it just me?

Tea said: I have noticed this magnetic tip thing too, funny isn't it that almost any book you read on computer repair says that magnetic tips are a big no no and yet you really can't do without it. Sounds like computer repair people protecting thier jobs to me. ;) I mean seriously has anyone...

    Epox and Overclocking

Right as usual Tony, but since the TI 500s don't look like the best value for money and Radeons still seem to have those little driver issues I might have to wait for the GForce 4s to be released before I give the old Phrophet 3 the flick. Meanwhile the KT-333 sounds promising. With the RAM...

BluTac and PCs - or is it just me?

It was not so long ago that I descided that I needed to set myself up with a comprehensive PC repair kit. I started out with the obvious things, screwdriver, pliers, then I moved on to less common stuff like a tube of Arctic Silver and a solering iron. Added about 3 different types of glue and...

    XBOX HDDs

The whole Intellimouse thing is a bit odd really. I think it may just be the version they sold in Oz or somthing as a freind had exactly the same issue as me, install the thing-it works fine for a couple of weeks and then all of a sudden the cursors all over the screen and the mouse wheel is...

    XBOX HDDs

I don't know if Microsoft are quite as likely to release an upgrade for the Xbox as everyone else seems to think. The reason being that if Microsoft can do it presumably somone else can too - most probably better to boot and alsmost cirtainly cheeper. This wouldn't be a big issue if Microsoft...

    Epox and Overclocking

Yeah I have tested it with a benchmark and it is actually running slower on the higher speed setting, it also reports the multiplier as 11 and the Mhz as 1467 so it is definatly not just a misreport- when I go into bios though it does keep the higher setting recorded, it just doesn't seem to use...

    Leap to Linux

5.1 output from DVDs with spdif Apparently there are sometimes issues with getting 5.1 sound through the spdif on some creative cards. In some cases sound won't play in 5.1 until you play a 5.1 sound(that sounds obvious). What I mean is that a DVD with stereo sound may not play unless you play...

    Epox and Overclocking

I am having a problem with an Epox board, its a 8KH+ using the VIA 266A chipset and I'm running an Athlon 1700+ Its multiplier unlocked and runs fine at 1533(1800+) but for some bizzare reason whenever I increase the multipler beyond 11.5 it goes back to running at 1467. If I keep upping the...
