Don't be too "harsh" with the new drive.
Before we proclaim it DeathStar we need to see how it performs and for how long.
I liked the 8MB cache version and the FDB motors available.
I only hope United Linux is a success in the business segment so they try something similar for consumer/home users.
I said it once, nobody heard: only if distro-makers start collaborating and merging their brands (imagine a SuSE-Mandrake-Red Hat conglomerate!) they will have the critical mass...
IMO Linux gives a second life to an old PC. Actually if you buy a new PC and you don't want to throw or upgrade the old one the best way to go is format the HD and install a Linux distro. Since you won't want to run games immediately you won't need any super-drooling performing CPU/graphics...
Games? New hardware?
The bad thing about Linux distros is they don't have the "Mandrake Update" thingy like Windows Update... the only solution is to compile your own Kernel, endeavor not easy for beginners...
It's scary that I'm thinking like CougTek ( :D ) but when I saw the photos and the way you explained how things worked I thought of the same thing.
We don't expect super-professional reviews to start pouring in but it would be fun anyway...
Don't know who this Enderbery is but he's certainly too wise... he talks about the millennia ago when Australia was still connected with Eurasia! :mrgrn:
"It's no exaggeration to say that the undecideds could go one way or
another." --George Bush, US President
This is by far the most stupid. AND I SWEAR I SAW HANDRUIN'S POST LATER...
This site is actually showing Lycoris getting more attention than Lindows. Even if the latter was evangelizing how much Windows-like it is.
Mandrake is firmly on top of attention, as always.
I've considered NOT to check my Hotmail account for a couple of months (after 30 days it deactivates...) for the spammers to get me off-list and then reactivate it.
Is this viable?
If you print less than 20 pages a week I don't think a Laser Printer justifies the initial costs. I personally print even less in cases I don't have a paper to deliver...
Back in 1999 I read an extensive article in SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN about these new search engine technologies.
I don't know how it does it so fast (nor I care)... but the fact that Google searches and ranks links instead of pages is the reason behind its accuracy.
I wonder if anyone uses anything...
You know Clocker is right. I never expected to fill up the 5 PCI slots in my ASUS mobo but... here I go!
If you believe you have stuff to put (especially S-ATA adapters, TV Tuners, and a better audio card, etc.) on the PCIs then buy the ASUS.
ASUS is quality. Of course Tyan is over-the-top but...
This phrase in the computer industry doesn't mean the same as in the discographic one, right?
Gone gold in the first one means RTM, instead gone gold in the second to sell 1000000 copies... yep?
All inks clog, according to their quality of course that is more or less. I usually find my inks clogged after long (month or so) of non-operation of my printer. And even that, only some times.
I think EPSON is very good in its inks however. Lexmark AFAIR was fine too.
Congrats Will!
I'm looking forward to see a handle Liam Rickards anytime soon...
PS. I really really really loved the photo where he's peeking with one eye open! :D
From Almend,
This message may come as a surprise as we have not met, but I am
desperately in need of help. I got your contact email address from
a search I made on the Internet. I cannot contact any of my known
father's associates because of the on-going situation in my country and the...
