somehow i dont think that guy will make it as a game programmer.. btw, that should be joust and not "jouse" in my post... I few years ago I downloaded an atari emulator and played joust at work. It was fun reliving the old days.

    Counter strike, anyone play anymore?

I ended up fixing the problem and played a game or so before work.. it was just that steam was overloaded and it was taking a while to install CS, but wasn't giving me any progress indicator. Guess I was just impatient. I also downloaded and installed the linux server for HL and setup a CS...

crap handy, this steam client seems a bit... unresponsive. I havent played since 1.5 (I started playing at 1.1). If you want I can host a server, I have 384kbit/sec and used to host several HL servers on my linux box... Maybe steam will finally dl and fully install and I can start...

ps. you need the latest version to play (or atleast you need the same version as the server you want to play on)... I believe it's best to just download the full version vs installing 1.0 and then updating. You can goto filemirrors.com and search for steaminstall_cs.exe The game is about...

    Counter strike, anyone play anymore?

na, it wont take you more than a couple hours to get the hang of it and after a couple week of playing you'll see how good you really are.. after that it's a slow road to improvement without the help of a better mouse/keyboard and learining tactics. Most maps are pretty small and gameplay is...

coug, updating via apt-get and a GUI front end like kpackage is absolute heaven. just point-> click -> done Of course you ened a working debian/knoppix/mepis computer to do so. Maybe you could give it a spin once you get a burner.... btw, I think I'm sold on using mepis.

This is the conclusion I came to after a couple of hours of onliune research. They're supposed to have better range than the comparable models from other companies. Aparently their setup options are about average, I didnt see any complaints nor complements other than it was easy to setup.
