i think you mean, why does ATi sux0r... They've been playing this game for awhile... if you had an older card, the newer MMCs wouldn't install... leaving you with bugs of all sorts and no way to fix them... IIRC, you could trick the MMC into installing by modifying one of the installation files...

some users have said no to that... i believe one said they left the battery out overnight... but most people only did a trivial 15 minutes... From my expereince you really do need to wait an hour or two alot of times.

hmm.. where I used to work they bought enlight cases just like mine... probably 250-300 watt PSU's... they had about 20 of those for desktop use.. Now that I think about it, i kinda remember them being quiet.. However with Celery 466's, Quantum 5400rpm Fireballs, and integrated 810 graphics...

Enlights aren't particularly quiet either... but I wouldn't call the 2 or 3 i've seen (250-300watt units) loud...

Tea, like I stated, there was and has always been a solution to this problem... holding down the insert key and powering on the computer... the normal hardware solution of the clear CMOS jumper does not seem to effect the FSB of the Nforce2... i have no idea why they decided to make it that...

Wasn't the 7200.7 supposed to be targeted towards OEMs? ...so it neither being the quietest drive ever or the fatest drive available has no real bearing... An OEMs objective is to get a drive that is cost effective and stays under a threshold of noise and price. I expected it to be faster...

The problem is somethig both me and Merc have commented on recently, sometimes the host of the files decides to discontinue hosting.. and a place to download the file is in limbo... You know the program exists, you know people have it... but you just cant seem to find it anywhere...

Agreed, if SF was hosting the files or if they were providing access (maybe even just links) I would think that some people might get upset for apps that are not freely distributable. But perhaps we could get permission on some of the storage related apps since we are a storage site :-? ...

I'd really like to keep tools around forever... even different version of the same tool... I agree that alot of tools outlive their usefullness after maybe 6 months or so... so there must be some type of life cycle.. perhaps an "archive" section for old tools and an active section for new...

I just got the replacement hard drive for my 1 year old 120gxp... Hitachi sent me a brand new Deskstar 180GXP IC35L090AVV207-0 (80gb) drive made in January. It took them 10 days from the time they got the drive till the time I got the replacement... That's awesome cust service. I love it. One...

your VOB files contain all the source... video (maybe from different angles), audio in different formats/languages, and subtitles... ripping these correctly is very important.. if you used the defults from smart ripper then you should have all streams intact after ripping.. so, you can try what...

btw, the controller doesnt need to recognize an ATAPI drive for it to work in windows... if you were letting something like that keep you from trying, then I'd say give it another shot and see if windows can detect the drive...
