    Folding@Home

coug, i mentioned to you that this problem is easier to fix than you thought.. it took me literally 10 seconds to fix it... just use your ISP's proxy, no need to install your own... perhaps you dont even need a proxy, you just need to change "localhost" to "127.0.0.1" in the client.cfg.... not...

HLStats security.. What precautions should I take?

hmm... honold, I can't seem to limit people to their home directories with pure-ftpd... (ie: they can login and they automatically goto their home directory, but then they just go up one level and they can see everyone's home.. up another level and they can see everything....) I've read through...

HLStats security.. What precautions should I take?

I just setup a stats system for halflife (Counter strike) and had to install several servers and possible security risks to get it working... I'm wondering what precautions I should take. I installed: MySQL version 3.23.55 Perl 5.8.0 mod_PHP version 4.3.1 for Apache version 2.0.44 A DBI Perl...

    Epox 8RDA+ RAM incompatibility

what chips are on that PC2700? Is this a widespread issue or just something yuo've noticed with your equipment? I've noticed that Crucial seems to have a few brands of PCB's and chips on their RAM... Is it possible that a stick with Samsung modules and Samsung PCB could have been modified...

ATI Charging Some For MMC 8.1 Update

i think you mean, why does ATi sux0r... They've been playing this game for awhile... if you had an older card, the newer MMCs wouldn't install... leaving you with bugs of all sorts and no way to fix them... IIRC, you could trick the MMC into installing by modifying one of the installation files...

    V-Box Problem

I agree... those things are great. I suppose someone could make one with bendable arms between the CPU and the radiator part so that you could bend it to fit in almost any case... that *would* be badass.

Coug... I decided to look into getting my 2.0gHz folding again ever since that white dog guy came around... well, the proxy method worked very easily... most ISPs have a proxy.. and there are alot of openly available proxy servers on the internet... my isp had a proxy, so I used it... open...

    Best Power Supply From . . . ?

hmm.. where I used to work they bought enlight cases just like mine... probably 250-300 watt PSU's... they had about 20 of those for desktop use.. Now that I think about it, i kinda remember them being quiet.. However with Celery 466's, Quantum 5400rpm Fireballs, and integrated 810 graphics...

[NEWS] - Nvidia Nforce 2 may have serious problems

Tea, like I stated, there was and has always been a solution to this problem... holding down the insert key and powering on the computer... the normal hardware solution of the clear CMOS jumper does not seem to effect the FSB of the Nforce2... i have no idea why they decided to make it that...

    [NEWS] - Barracuda 7200.7 review

Wasn't the 7200.7 supposed to be targeted towards OEMs? ...so it neither being the quietest drive ever or the fatest drive available has no real bearing... An OEMs objective is to get a drive that is cost effective and stays under a threshold of noise and price. I expected it to be faster...

Need for a "Toolbox Reference Section" ?

Agreed, if SF was hosting the files or if they were providing access (maybe even just links) I would think that some people might get upset for apps that are not freely distributable. But perhaps we could get permission on some of the storage related apps since we are a storage site :-? ...

I'd really like to keep tools around forever... even different version of the same tool... I agree that alot of tools outlive their usefullness after maybe 6 months or so... so there must be some type of life cycle.. perhaps an "archive" section for old tools and an active section for new...

My last RMA (before this) was to IBM... i exchanged a 1 month old unit and got a refurb that had the same specs. My two 2 year old 15gb 75gxp's both run well.. i need to figure out where I should use them now.

I don't think you should spend any more money than you have to, I guess it would be possible for one of the forum's members to host these files from their own connection. I will do it, but my upload is limited to ~45KB/sec and I have other services running, so I would appreciate only...
