Writing an image file to a new drive in Acronis Home 11?

The GUI is awful. It won't say where it is recovering to, I'm just going to let it run. Here's hoping it isn't restoring over my system drive or my backup drive?

From what I can tell, the electoral system is primarily about math, what would be the better framework? Another interesting bit, about getting economists into politics is this from Planet Money, where they got all kinds of economists together and only posted the changes that they all agreed on.

Great, thanks....now what? When I choose the "Disk and Partition Backup" Where I made the backup and choose "Recover" it doesn't ask me for a destination?

Writing an image file to a new drive in Acronis Home 11?

This shouldn't be this hard. Acronis Home 11 is installed on my machine I connected the failing drive via USB and created a backup of the drive I can see the backup file on the external I saved it to I've connected the new, empty drive to the system Windows sees the drive All I want to do is...

Yeah, and we just had a couple tiny earthquakes today (max 4.2). And people don't like living in CA because of the risk of quakes? That looks like an absolute nightmare; and it will probably last longer than 30 seconds.

At work I currently have a single GTX690, probably moving to two when I get another Dell 30" screen there. It is my main machine, but I only log 4-6 hours in the office a day, so if I could set up some kind of idle-time configuration it would likely still put some points on the board. At home I...

Any SCO pros out there? Need to bypass a login...

Downloading it now. So to see/modify the usernames and passwords I'll need to do the following: 1. Mount the hard drive somehow? 2. Browse to /etc/passwd 3. Edit it in some way? Does that sound like a plan?

I'm not disagreeing with any of the opinions of SCO here. Unfortunately the data is in a proprietary format that can only be opened by the program that is only installed on this machine. I don't have any copies of the OS or application. Of course, all the companies involved are long gone. If I...

That would be a great idea if it weren't for the fact that all the data is in a proprietary format that only the software on this machine can read.

Any SCO pros out there? Need to bypass a login...

Subject says it all. This was our estimating software last century, and it would be awful nice to get some data out of it. The system (a 450Mhz with 128MB RAM) boots fine, but no one can remember the login details. We aren't even certain about the user name. Help? Thanks!

As do I. But I suppose it depends on the failure rate which is more effective. Considering I've only had a half-dozen bad DIMMs in the last decade it hasn't been worth it for me.

My main problem with a fully automated army is that it is only a good hack away from a military coup. Others mention that if no one on our side dies in a war the public won't be opposed. I think the money is enough of a deterrent at this point. The other thing we need to do is get better at...

Troop casualties suck, but they are nothing compared to the cost of a wounded soldier for the rest of their life. I've heard estimates of $1M each. Tomahawks are still stupid expensive in comparison, but UAVs with dumb munitions can be very cost effective.

Cool name, awesome ship. More important to me than reducing the number of ships is to massively reduce the number of personnel; I don't think the military (or the population at large) really appreciates how much additional cost each set of "boots on the ground" has over their lifetime. Fewer...
