I bought a Nokia E71 a couple of months ago and am quite happy with it. Nokia seems to have learned from the design flaws of the E61 and E61i.

I will probably have to be in Connecticut at the end of the month for about 2 weeks. Lately the high there has been below freezing. I've never been exposed to that kind of cold before. I'll probably die of peeniemonia.

Happy New Year to everywhere else!

I've tried the Tempurpedic pillows and didn't like them. I guess it's a matter of personal taste. I'd love to have a sleep number, but I'm afraid getting used to specialized beds will mean I'll never sleep if I go someplace on vacation.

    Word perfect

I have a ton of docs in WordPerfect (all versions). Office 2003 opens them with no problems. BUT, you will need to have installed the optional converter pack in Office 2003. You will need the Office 2003 install CD for this. Sorry I don't know where mine is, and am not sure how to install the...

How times change. Once upon a time, you were golden if you owned a Hallmark store. Some physicians even made so much money from their Hallmark store that they quit their practice. I guess email is mostly to blame for the decline of Hallmark, with the economy delivering the below-the-belt punch.

    Should we ban disposable batteries?

The sources listed for Eneloops are all good. I use a Maha MH-C9000 Charger; it's reaaaaaally good. The upper limit for charging NiMH batteries is pegged typically at 1000 mAh for fast charging. In general, the higher the charge rate the shorter the life of the battery. As for the lower...

Nichia Develops 60 Lumen Per Watt White LED

I read yesterday that when diaper rash cream is heated, it gives off pure white light. Something to do with the chemicals in it. Now they're going to try to dope LEDs with the same chemicals to get white light straight out of the LED.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Thanks David. It's sad when a 5400 rpm mechanical device beats 2 of the 4 SSDs you tested. It's incredible just how much faster the Intel is to the #2 - multiple magnitudes, not percentages!
