Actually, in my experience the 300W AOpen PS actually is a PowerMan/Sparkle unit - I know, I had to replace the PS that came with my Inwin case. The 300W units are very good, but as you say they're not terribly quiet.

I don't run a PDC at all. I'm only running a home network here, for Chrissake. That way my MP3s are stored in a directory on my Sun box which I can access from everywhere - my Audiotron can read it too. I don't need massive device/user authentication at home.

There's 14 such places almost in a row down George St. in the CBD here. I think there's a market for a premium product (very latest games, Geforce 4s, 19" monitors, etc.) but the low end (Geforce 2MX, 15" monitor) is pretty much done to death.

Well, 3GB is overkill indeed if you're not running a database server or somesuch. 512MB is lots and 1GB is getting towards excessive. If you want to spend money on stuff you don't need, then go right ahead. It's your cash after all. Why do you need all those OSes?
