SSDs - State of the Product?

Sounds like a better plan to me. My work laptop has 8GB of RAM and a 120GB SSD, it's been quite nice for development work. What are you going back to school for?

SSDs - State of the Product?

I understand why you'd want to put one in a laptop, especially if you can only put one drive in there. For a desktop, I would buy a cheaper, smaller drive and just add more spinning drives.

The UI is a dealbreaker for me. Yes, it's possible to root it, but I'd rather just buy a device that's works well out of the box.

Nice tip. I grabbed a couple Devin Townsend albums, very technical and intense. I've listened to metal since high school, mostly progressive metal. My favorite band is Dream Theater. I've seen them in concert about 5 times.

Try Linux Mint, which is based on Ubuntu, but uses the MATE DE, which is a fork of GNOME 2.x. I find installing a Linux distribution much easier than installing Windows. There are no drivers to download. Everything just works (at least for me).

I'm considering rooting my Galaxy S3. I'd like to be able to mount NFS shares, remove unremovable apps, do complete backups, etc. Has anyone else done this? I've read that it will void the warranty, but I'm under the impression that it's possible to undo the operation and make it completely...
