Does that say you are only dropping the water 2 meters? That tank sounds huge. I don't think most houses could support 300,000 kg in the attic.

    Something Random

How about co-locating the hosting with another member? With something like DynDNS it wouldn't be very hard to automatically check to see if your host is unavailable and then update DynDNS with a new IP address. The data could be mirrored at interval and the switchback could be handled manually.

    Something Random

With a service like DynDNS you wouldn't have to pay for a static IP address. Your TOS may forbid you to run servers, but they may not care, especially for something that probably doesn't use all that much bandwidth.

    Linux - monitoring processes

Sounds like it will work fine. I would write a script to collect the data and create the CSV file automatically. The Unix Sysadmin at my office uses Nagios to monitor our *nix boxes. I don't know if it would be helpful for this use case though.

    Wiring a house for LED

My condo is full of recessed cans. I kept the incandescent lights wherever I wanted a dimmer and everywhere else I got cheap CFLs from Home Depot. I'm not sure I really like recessed cans. No Raid solution

This is really DB dependent. For some of our Oracle DBs we do log shipping. For MySQL I run dumps and then the dumps are backed up. For both of these approaches the database can be online. Android: The Legend Begins

I'd agree with this. From what I've read the standard libraries that ship with .Net have a lot more built-in functionality than what comes standard with Java SE or JEE. However, this can be seen as a good thing or a bad thing. The Java community has produced an amazing amount of open source...
