I don't get it, you have four gig memory and you are trying to use three gig for each instance of prime? What if you set each to use 1500?
I don't know if your memory is maxed out or not but if you lower the memory multiplier you might be able to go up into the lower to mid 3's on that CPU...
Hmm, I am actually familiar with CripKey as our old application uses it. Has a local system service name of "CripKey License" set to auto start and it monitors some key files named *.cf in the root of C:\. Touching these files, even moving them and copying them back breaks the app and you have...
Let us know if they replace it for a worn out clicker on the scroll wheel.
I just remembered I replaced this mouse once already for an optical sensor that died soon after I got it. I think I will look for an alternative.
Mine is starting to get like that too. I think I am going to investigate an RMA. the sensor actually picks up the scroll just fine but the indent for the position clicks is completely worn out on the down direction.
I am guessing the price would be near the 15k.5 as it basically is? This really could go to show where the cost vs performance wars have lead to, we have the technology to do this but look at what we have on the shelfs here.
You all suck, now I am hungry again. I can't believe how old the thread is.
I will have to start sampling some of the Pizza here, probably a dozen local joints in easy reach around here. Thought that was strange actually, sort of an overpopulation of pizzerias.
Cool
Good, did the rebuild have to be completed in the BIOS or was it allowed to continue to do its thing in the background as you booted and worked in Windows?
Cool, I am leaning way toward Intel but I haven't ever seen one thing anywhere on the Gigabyte utility.
Based on the download for the drivers the Intel one is over five times bigger so there has to be some goodness in it.
Well on the 3Ware card you get a page that tells you about the drive model number, serial number, firmware number and revision and the RAID configuration. Also has notification options and on line configuration / rebuild. All of the above available through a web page. The motherboard manual...
Specifically dealing with a GA-965P-DQ6 (rev. 3.3). On this board there is actually a choice according to the manual, you can use the ICH8R or you can use the Gigabyte controller. ICH8R has a bigger feature set but I don't care about that, specifically which has better management software...
I love Bluetooth keyboards and mice for laptops that have integrated Bluetooth, no dongles or wires at all. Bluetooth broadband through a cell phone is pretty cool too, unfortunately RIM is really behind in figuring this out for the Blackberry though. I think in general in my small experience...
Understood, I am just at a loss to figure out a better or more humane way to control populations.
I think we can all agree that better health care and living longer is great so we don't want to change that.
I think that is more of a social issue they have going there favoring males. Actually it is working even better because without the females they further the cause and limit reproduction. I don't think something similar would happen in the US as we don't have the whole male superior thing to the...
I am with you on that, the slums are where all the kids are. Anyway I thought in a post industrial nation like we are there was supposed to be a leveling off or a negative population growth. What happened to that?
Yes
Those were the days when you could mod a Ultra 33/66/100 into a Fasttrack with a soldering iron and a BIOS flash. Who did that? I had several but none left anymore.
I could definitely go along with that. I wouldn't wipe out that many though, more like 40-50% and then find a way to keep it at that level. Ever read Earth Abides (environmental class, not my pick)? Don't want to return to the bronze age here...
This was in the days of the explorer 3.0, the cords on them sucked and I went through a couple. No need to return even, so I had extras. Before I asked for a replacement I would even shorten the cord and resolder it to the board, but then the cord got too short and demanded replacement.
I got...
Been looking into this and haven't found a real clear idea of what the problem is. Our group has a similar problem when a PC grabs the bandwidth and the person on the other end can't hear you.
Does the ISP have to support QoS as well? I though I read that somewhere that it did?
At any rate...
We are using a Cisco automated call distribution system and I have a PIX unit here that is basically a hardware VPN, anything plugged into that is on our corporate network so our phone/computer pluggs into that. I don't have access to anything there configuration wise but I can sign into our...
What I have on this is a headset plug on the phone that looks like a standard RJ11. This first one you pointed out looks like it will do the trick but you have to dig into the users manual to find out:
Wish there was a better way to find these, thanks though that gets me started.
I recently found myself on the receiving end of a 1800 number and I have to work on a plain old handset phone, a Cisco 7960 actually.
When out budget allows we are going to go to a plantronics headgear thing with a little motor operator that lifts the handset to you can answer calls but this...
I had no problem with being able to see the other OS partition no matter what OS I was in be it Vista or XP. I was using the regular MS boot manager and I did have two primary partitions, one for each OS plus another drive just for storage. I don't recall ever seeing the non active OS partition...
FWIW when I tried vista I could read my storage partitions no problem and XP could read vista's drive partition. My existing partitions were created either with XP's utility or partition magic. Vista's partition was created with MS's built in vista utility and worked fine BUT PM would have...
Sounds to me like they are trying to drive more ticket sales as. Putting up something like this invokes lots of free press and gets more sheep in the door.
I would recommend a backup before doing this too. Might even be faster to shove the data somewhere else, nuke the partition & RAID set and create fresh.
Many computers have a power on timer, like an alarm clock, in the BIOS. Otherwise you could possibly enable the wake on LAN and rig up one of those internet sites you can go to that will turn on the computer remotely. I have never used either...
Sounds like an excellent reason against RAID5 to me. I plan to get rid of mine and replace it with a pair of these gignormous drives that are available now sometime this year.
Anyone have something interesting going on for the long weekend?
Been using my 3Com wireless gateway for about five years now I think, the part number is huge so let me know if you want it. Part of their SOHO line I think.
Get one of these and use it as a little desk for writing too:

I use a pillow sometimes but thats bad as it blocks vents.
I can't stand inkjets personally because of all the above here. I have a NINE year old HP color Laserjet 5 (mfg May 1998, just looked). I just can't kill the thing. It started printing typical laser print big fat black lines on things so I opened it, poked around and ran the corona wire cleaners...
MS just doesn't like Apple stuff:
Safely remove hardware is decidedly not http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/archive/2007/05/08/final-ipod-update-is-available-via-download-center.aspx
I got a couple from newegg, my last one was this because it was SLI certified:

Good choice in Seasonic, quiet and reliable. Excellent level of finish too.
If you have maybe even a hint that you may get a 2900xt or newer video...
Is that only overseas? I have RMA'd a drive before directly no problem. Bought these through newegg too.

Even a nice handy utility to tell you if you are under warranty.
Wow, pretty good. For me though I am more than "getting by" with my 2gig PNY. If I go bigger on the flash it has to be way bigger to replace my 40gig USB HDD.
I may have missed it but did you try out that PCI NIC?
Nvidia's answer to me not being able to use my USB based KVM on any nforce chipsets was to use a USB PCI card. I get the feeling they really don't care about the minor things that don't work right for their chipsets.
This has caught me a couple times now, really should be on the memory's package, I agree.
Plus then there are "some" mobo's out there that don't give you a clear idea of what voltages are set to like normal, high, ultra etc.
