    Crap selection of laptops

I saw an ad for one of those recently that cause me to pause. It does really look nice. I like the display port because the right $10 dongle will get you VGA VDI or HDMI. And I think display port is license free.

I have my iCrap set to autowipe with too many login attempts. And I don't hand my phone to too many people. Almost all of the data is sync'd off on a continual basis so I'm not too worked about losing stuff. I just don't want others to get to it.

    User-friendly FTP-ish program/service?

What kind of restrictions do you have for #3? Honestly, iis7 is really easy to administrate. You just create a local user, create a folder for them and you're done. You could probably even give the admins a simpler, scripted interface. Users type FTP:// into windows explorer as a client...

I would like to change hosts for a website. How to leach info for use by the new host

You should be able to back up the entire site this way. Just visit every link and then sort by last accesed. http://www.wikihow.com/Save-Flash-Animation-from-Website Drag the swf files to a browser window to view. The backup won't work exactly like the website but you'll have a backup.

And be able to schedule your server side processing such that you don't need it done "right now" and don't need as big a processor.

It sounds like they dump your data to an external drive and you give them their drive back when you are done. You could do the same thing with your own external drive and configuring the client properly, IIRC. That 3.5G limit is to leave room for all the encryption overhead I bet.
