    Planning for future storage requirements

If you can estimate how much data a current project requires and how many projects you will take on in the future you can get close. If you can trend line that you may get a better number than otherwise.

    Planning for future storage requirements

Oops I got a little off track there. The best you can do is to take your understanding of why the data grew and size you storage system accordingly. Making it modular will allow you to make corrections in the near future.

    Windows 8

I'm talking about Metro, the user interface, not Windows 8, the operating system. I thought we were all talking about the fact that some people like the GUI and some don't. What we are really talking about is that people need access to their data. If the interface is too cumbersome OR too...

Tannin, one thing missing in your business analysis is how profitable Apple was selling to only 15% of the market. There may be money to be made from selling a consistent user experience no matter what the underlying base is...like you do.

I replaced the solder-on water cut off for the toilet. By the time everything had cooled I discovered I had melted the internal plastic of the valve enough for the new one to leak. Shark bite to the rescue. PITA.

    Security Cameras

Excellent time, but I'm not surprised powerline wouldn't work. Apparently even the breakers have to be designed a certain way to be compatible. And that generally applies to particular manufacturers from what I've read. Honestly white Ethernet cable wedged into the grout line high enough that...

    Best movie you've seen

A prequel to the most recent? Isn't this a series reboot and therefor not obligated to be consistent with what has gone before? Gatsby was worth it. Made us go home and rewatch Moulan Rouge.

If you are worried about break-ins as opposed to stoop-theft(tm) you could mount the cameras inside and go with POE. Be sure to hide the video recorder.

When I've bought an app a or music, sometimes I get the email same day and sometimes day after. But either way I can use it immediately. Gifts would need another kind of feedback obviously.

This is actually the exact situation buying online is made for. Once you know your preferred size and model for a particular manufacturer you don't even have the inconvenience of going into the store.

random Progress of general purpose computing

Memory is cheaper than employee time to write code in assembler. There is money to be made in optimizing code especially as we cram more people onto fewer resources through virtualization.

I want to buy a new car

We ran into the same issue you saw initially. On the phone, find the handsfreelink pairing and turn on notifications. You my also need to remove the phone from the car and re-pair it. As of now, the car will read any new txt messages to me but I can not see old ones or respond.

I want to buy a new car

The sound quality is fine for us as well as music/pandora control. What we are really missing is the ability to send txt replies without leaving the steering wheel. This could be either canned responses or Siri integration. Soon maybe.
