    Evil Empire

Apple's argument that an android product is as comperable to an apple product as it is to other android products is in conflict with it's argument that buyers will become android people. Is it one ecosystem or two, Apple.

    Electric Cars

The diesel-locomotive doesn't really have the option of operating in parallel mode. Any diesel engine with enough torque to contribute to locomoting the locomotive would take up entirely too much space. The nice thing about the trailer is that it modularizes the functions. I could easily drive...

I really like what symform.com is doing. You can even designate a particular node to keep all of your bits so you will have a local copy on site. It used to be too expensive for the home user but it looks like they recently changed their pricing model. It also just occured to me that we might be...

    Electric Cars

The trailers I've read about are not as I described but I see no conceptual problem with what I've described even if it is not the most efficient due to all of the energy conversions. All the trailers that I have read about previous to this discussion were pusher trailers with a front wheel...

    Electric Cars

I am surprised nobody has built a consumer grade recharging trailer. Just a simple trailer with engine, fuel, and electrical connection. You can find some homebuilt on the interwebs but I think it could be a good option for extending range occasionally.

    To iPhone or Not ?

I try not to, nobody likes glass in their ass. :) The dual glass sides of the iP4 make it less likely that I would allow myself to sit on it purposely; and the squared corners make it easy to remember when I've forgotten. I used to sit on my 3GS all the time in cushioned seats Primarly I just...

    To iPhone or Not ?

Interesting, I am surprised by that. I carry my phone in my pockets exclusively, usually my back pocket since I got the 4. My 4 doesn't feel smaller that my 3GS; certainly not 40% smaller. I'm sure the beveled profile makes a difference but I wouldn't have expected that much.

Outlook is using generic standard MAPI not any form of exchange like connection. E.G, you will not get calendar or contacts support. ActiveSync and its bastards are special use protocols only for mobile devices.

Timing of building a new system

If the top fan is in a "chimney arraingement" then the fan will be on exhaust and the danger of dust entering the case from the top will be minimal. In dusty environment I personally prefer to have positive case pressure so I can dictate where air will enter the case and filter for dust accordingly.
