Personal Music Players - I need to scratch an itch

They basically said "We try to make it so people who are not technically adept can use the service we have already but we'll look in to it." There are tools for managing mobile devices and the apps they have installed but I haven't seen any that allow for arbitrary file sync services. Google...

    Overclocking Fun

I've kept an i7-2600k at 4.5GHz pretty much since I built it. On the other hand, it only has 1x4GB RAM since that's the only way it stays stable 100% of the time at that speed. I had it up to 4.7GHz but it wasn't stable enough to leave there. It's definitely easier to overclock on one stick of...

Personal Music Players - I need to scratch an itch

The more I talk to the people I need this for, the more it sounds like they just want someone to work Amazon's music service for them. I actually send feedback suggesting such a thing and I did actually get a non-canned reply about it.

    Unbelievable Cisco server deal

I've never heard a 1U server that sounded like anything other than a jet aircraft getting ready for take off. 1U machines aren't anything you'd want in your house. Possibly not even in the garage next door to your house.

The only way that HCR was going to happen was by spending all of that political capital. If you ask me, it still didn't happen since we do not yet have single payer but rather a big wet sloppy blowjob for the insurance industry. Any improvement is better than none, and it's not like we could...

The thingy I've found works well is Sysinternals Disk2VHD. VHDs are a standard image format that are used by tons and tons of Microsoft tools and everybody else supports using or converting them to a native format as well.

I need more drive space. What brand/drive is good these days?

Amazon DOES do an awesome job with drive packaging. On the other hand, I got a box today that probably could've been used as a coffin for a five year old and all it had in it were three power supplies and a metric assload of those little air-filled bags they use.

The election went relatively well from my point of view. Mourdock and Akin were both (deservedly) defeated and Maryland and Washington state voters affirmed that gay people have rights after all. The thing that would have had me dancing in the streets, though, was the Bachmann-Graves race in...

Personal Music Players - I need to scratch an itch

I'm thinking about this. The big problem I see for something along these lines is that I'm kind of talking about media files that would be accessed by more than one person, the "administrator" and the "owner." That probably doesn't work in any legal framework in the Western world.

Personal Music Players - I need to scratch an itch

What I was thinking was that, say, Amazon for example would have a "push music to device" feature. But it doesn't. The extra battery adds about one pound to the weight of the unit. Making it six + a few ounces instead of five + a few ounces, or about the same as what most 15" laptops weigh in the first place. Anyway, I've only needed it a couple times. The slice battery is installed in place of a docking...

You don't buy either those things from Lenovo in any case. Anyway yeah, the 1600x900 screen and i5 CPU are perfectly good options for most people. There's not much subjective difference between the mobile i5 and the mobile i7, so you're probably better off.

A couple times a year, Lenovo does half off on warranties. Since the quality of service is a big part of the reason I'm willing to buy Lenovo in the first place, that's what I wait for. You're never going to get to do HUGE coupon stacking like you can with Dell sometimes, but the last couple...
