It's kind of odd that programs that take a lot of time, NOD 32 for example, even at Realtime, use about 10% of the processors, and, the read on C drive was NOT fast. Overall it's faster, but, I just don't see that much speed increase, except in a few, very specific areas.

30 gigs is just a bit small for my OS, and programs. That was my main interest in getting two, and, finding a SATA 3 card that gets close to 300 mb/sec seems to be more difficult then one would think, in PCI-X.

To go a bit further, the onboard chipsets and raid controllers need to be up to the task as well. One of the issues I have noticed is with the same drives on the two other machines I have, the user experience just isn't as fast on the Gigabyte 120 dollar or so motherboards, vs. the Supermicro...
