Can you copy DVD's from one reader to another?

CityK: Thanks for the suggestion. I've installed the little guy, and so far so good. The Madog NEC 16X dual layer arrived today, and it comes with Nero, for 89.00. Amazing, simply amazing. Nero works great, and, at Fry's, is 99.00, alone. The burner works great, burning DVD single layers at...

    My system upgrade..

Hmmm. I put the external DVD player on top of the box, and that's got rid of a good bit of vibration. I guess a couple covers on the front wouldn't hurt, either. Try and keep it cheap. Still, I've been looking at all the really cool sound deadening stuff I could use if I built a house, and...

    800X600 LCD?

So far, the answers appear to be no, and no. The options are non-existent. The video out is confined to a 4mb graphics card, and I think that might be the limiting factor. The options aren't avaliable as with other laptops. However, it's under 4 pounds, and works reasonably well. Just...

    My system upgrade..

By the way, the Swifttech heatsinks are kind of strange, since they appear to use 80mm case fans for cooling? I could just as well screw on a 80mm Stealth, I think. For the longest time I couldn't figure out what kind of fans I was supposed to buy, since the numbers Swifttech gives are a bit...

    800X600 LCD?

When I go to a higher res, 1024x768, it does a really weird thing. It becomes much bigger then the avaliable screen, and to get to the edges, you have to drag the mouse to the sides. It's like the screen area is only the center of the bigger screen. Weird. Besides, I thought the deal with...

    My system upgrade..

Forgot to mention the inspiration for the upgrade. My machine was REALLY noisy. REALLY. Went with expensive, but good, Swifttech heat sinks, with low noise Sunon 80mm fans. Also put in a 120 CM Vantech Stealth fan, with 92mm Vantech Stealth fan, two, one over the cpus, and the other at the...

    800X600 LCD?

Hi I'm running email off a Panasonic CF-37. I have limited space, and, the CF-37 seems to like 800X600 for resolution for an external LCD. Anyone have a cheap, easily readable favorite, in 800X600 resolution? Thanks gs

Well, Friday my raid crashed, and the computer wouldn't get past starting with user, without freezing. Why can't I get the floppy drive to work?

I've used two floppies, one new, one about a year, both act the same, light on, all the time, no matter what I do, cable wise. I'm about ready to revamp, install silent fans, with big Swifttech heat sinks, and go only SCA drives. When I do this, I need to be able to do a clean install, and...

One counter point: G5's are 64 bit processors, and, if Apple gets the OS right, finally 64 bit instead of a 32 bit os on a 64 bit chip, I suspect the g5's might give the Athlon's a run. On the otherhand, G3's and P3's used to be at the top of the heap at the same time, as well. s
