The installer for palm pilot is idiotic, or doesn't like XP. I've tried it with SP 2, and had it installed without, but another program fuxored the settings, FirstClassless, and I can't return them to normal, even after deleting them. Appears FC deletes the originals, installing it's on path...

Why bother? It already has ATA 100 on the motherboard. How many drives can you fit in this thing? Buy a couple drives for the 100 channel, and use that, and save yourself some money. SATA has yet to approach scsi as an interface, and, ATA is fine for mass storage. S

Funny, but my results and experiences have been so far out of whack with SR that I see no point in visiting. The ONLY reason for me to check there is to find out the reviews on IDE/ATA drives, and, since they all seem to be pretty much the same, it just is an easy place to find out which drive...

The only controllers I really trust are either Intel chipset based, or 3 Ware. None are cheap. I'm not very experienced with ide/ata stuff, so everytime I end up trying something, I usually get shafted, and it costs me money. Talk to the guys here, or, go to Costco, buy a Maxtor that's bagged...

You are doing great. The X 15 is running fine, and so is the other drive. UW max is around 35-7 mb sec, real world. LVD max is around 75 mb/sec, real world. Haven't tried the 15.4, but my 15.3 maxed at 73 mb/sec. s
