Italian is very easy to make at home. The ingredients and seasonings are simple. I'm too lazy to make pasta, which hurts the expeience a little, but I've done it before. Personally I like Mexican and Chinese food. And Polish food. Provencal (Country) French is very good too. I have a special...

Am I missing something? I see a blank page. I use Firebird. I'm accustomed to Mozilla, having used it for years, but one thing that no one has mentioned is the development on Moz was supposed to stop two releases ago. Also in Firebird's favor: The UI operates noticeably faster. It has a...

There's a Thai place in Lansing that's very good, timwhit, but it's not someplace I'd feel comfortable asking for a table for one. There are some I'm aware of in the suburbs but I don't live there and as a rule I don't try new foods while I'm working. I like Karee noodles and Lad Na.

I just happened to notice it was after midnight, which is why I posted that. I'm working today, just like other days. The thing about the artists I was referring to is, the only places I could find decent images of their work were sites that sell posters. I was really disappointed that there...

I started with a large pile of "known good" mail, told tbird not to junk mail from anyone I'd sent mail to, and it's done very well for me. I only use it at my day job, though. My filters at home do what I need. I get a couple of false positives a day. Amazon marketplace sellers still get junked...

I can't tell if you're agreeing or disagreeing with Tannin here, Buck, but IMO, there would've been a great deal less aggravation if the first support-bot and the web pages that guided me TO the support-bot had been forthcoming about Sony's support policies and services. In the course of my...

    KaZaA Lite sites all down

I've noticed that almost all Kazaa Lite machines share the Kazaa Lite installer. So oddly enough, one of the best places to look for it is on Fasttrack. Also, you could try running GiFT with the FastTrack plug-in. Not as nice as Kazaa Lite but miles better than Kazaa or Grokster.

    Reviews of Mitsubishi's WL-82913

32db is very, very quiet for a projector. In perspective, SR's measurements of the Seagate Barracuda V show an idle noise rating of 37db. There is definitely downconverting going on. 1080i/p use a native resolution of 1920x1080, and even 720i/p is 1280x720. That's not to say that the picture...

Projection screens are highly susceptible to burn-in (in as little as 30 minutes), a PITA to calibrate for color and insufficiently bright. I'm not saying that the $21,000 monitor would be, but that's how things tend to be. 4:3 content on a 16:9 display does not look good. Either the content...

Tbird is IMO best of all possible worlds right now. HOWEVER I seriously miss the ability to right-click "send to mail recipient" from my browser (that's firebird's fault) and the ability to "open in new tab" when I click on a link in Thunderbird. Spam controls on Tbird work really, really...

Bozo's right. Sort of. The P4 Bozo is referring to has a 133MHz system bus, which means that data flows from RAM to PCI 25% faster than those (presumably) 100MHz-based P3s. I've never heard of a 66MHz P3. If the PCs Bozo was using were heavily loaded somehow, the P4 would remain more...

Anyone else sees a "warn" bar at SR?

Every Klipsch set I've heard has been boomy and bottom heavy. That's probably great if you listen to boomy, bass heavy popular music but let's just say Klipsch doesn't do a soft classical piece any favors. I'd call the Klipsch approach to speaker-building flawed at best. Sound is subjective, of...
