jtr, AT&T made promises to get some concessions, then hasn't kept the promises. That is the real problem. I don't think they were naive enough to not know what they were getting into when they made the promises.

But Toshiba drives don't seem to fare well. In those drive surveys, or user reviews on various web sites. That is surprising o me; unless Toshiba mucked with the HGST's design / materials / process.

Too much coffee too often can also lead to Costochondritis. Feels like a heart attack, but ain't.

There'd be other ramifications in the tape vs drive debate: handling requirements, space requirements, environment requirements, etc. Looks like for Tea's purposes, disk drives match her needs better.

For a fresh install of W-10, will a Win-7 Technet key work? Sigh. So many questions. I guess better to wait and see how the bleeding-edge people fare.

I have two APC Back-UPS RS 1500 units, both purchased in 2006. One had batteries replaced about 4 years ago. Both perform quite well. One gets a UPS for reliability; not point scrimping on a critical item.

What's not clear (to me) is, if you upgrade within the "free" window, do you never ever have to pay for it? Or is it free to use for one year then shuts down or nags you to pay?
