    Outlook Auto Archiving

Up to 50 users it is completely free. If you have more than 50 users it is $50/user/year. We are currently considering breaking down the company to different domains to keep each under 50 users and not pay anything.

No doubt, and I'm comfortable with that, depending on the odds. This millennium? No problem. This century? Thanks for the warning. This decade? Time to sell... Edit: From the article

    Lenovo Thinkpads

I really like my T410. It survived daily use in a construction zone for 6 months with a single error (fan - cleaned it out, no need to replace). Very solid machine.

Is there anything that stops you from setting auto-archive to something like 7 days? I'm with Merc on this; as soon as Google started offering to host our domain mail for free, I jumped ship.

    Monitors w/massive brightness range

Both of the ASUS monitors I have in front of me have both contrast and brightness. Being able to independently adjust the LED back light sounds very promising.

The #1 thing I learned in high school was how to spot an approaching fight, and how to get myself out of it. That is not something you are going to learn in a virtual school.

24" 1080P is the current bang/buck from what I can see. I buy about 2 a week. Larger than that and I get them a 32-37" HDTV.

24" 1080P is perfect IMHO. For our users that don't like things that small, it scales nicely to 720P.

    low-end laser printers these days?

The Samsung printers I have work great until service is needed, trek they are a write-off. The HPs are more expensive and no better until out comes timer for a service. I suppose it depends on whether you mind throwing out whole printers or not.

That is a concern I've thought of. Once the blinds arrive, I suspect we will be using them fairly regularly. I would like the option though. Screw 'em. It's my world, too. If me watching the street/neighbors makes them uncomfortable, they can get blinds ;) As for me, while I won't be at my...

    Monitors w/massive brightness range

This really isn't a productivity station. This is where we pass the time. Watching what is going on outside is as significant as whatever is on the monitor. If we are going to work hard, the blinds are blackout with a white interior, so the "ideal" is available as well.

My wife and I spend most of our waking time at home at our desks. To make the best of this time, I've put the desks in front of the biggest window in the house, allowing the best view. This brings me to our problem. At night, our current monitors don't get nearly dim enough to be able to enjoy...

Shot the same night football all-star game I did last year. Venue was a Jr. College, so the lighting sucks. I intended to use the 100/2, but got to borrow a 300/2.8 for a quarter. Shot the rest of it with the 180/3.5 macro, probably the best choice to be honest.
